New Publication Announcement: Perceptions of the Professional Status of Legal Translators: A Case Study in Lebanon

A new chapter entitled “Perceptions of the Professional Status of Legal Translators: A Case Study in Lebanon” has been published in the volume Issues in Arabic Legal Translation: New Insights into the Field, by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.

The chapter is based on a dissertation defended at ETIB and co-authored by the candidate, Nadira FAHED, and the director of the thesis, Lina SADER FEGHALI. It offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary analysis of prevailing perceptions of legal translators’ professional status in Lebanon. The study identifies the main factors shaping these perceptions and highlights opportunities for improvement, pointing to a fertile ground for the advancement of the profession.

The chapter puts forward actionable recommendations to enhance the professional recognition of legal translators and contribute to their professionalization, notably by emphasizing the need for formal, specialized training in legal translation.
