Approche linguistique des phénomènes de traduction qui se base sur des outils et des méthodes de la linguistique de corpus afin de décrire et d’analyser les textes traduits (recherche en traductologie), mais aussi afin d’assister le traducteur dans son travail (développement d’outils d’aide à la traduction) et le futur traducteur en formation dans son apprentissage.

- Contexte
Ce sont donc ces deux aspects de l’utilisation des corpus, (i) les corpus comme outils d’analyse de la langue traduite et (ii) les corpus comme outils d’aide à la traduction, que nous regroupons sous l’appellation « traductologie de corpus ».

La traductologie de corpus est le fruit de la rencontre entre la linguistique de corpus et la traductologie descriptive.

Paradigm within the discipline of translation studies that draws on the methodological and theoretical insights of corpus linguistics by using corpora of original and/or translated text to analyse the characteristics of translation (translation studies research and the elaboration of theoretical constructs), to provide resources for professional translators (development of translation tools), and to help with translator teaching and training.

Typical methods used in corpus-based translation studies include: 1. Comparison of two or more translations of an original text (to study stylistic differences); 2. Comparison of translations and monolingual corpora in the same language as the translation (to study linguistic features of the translation as compared to the reference text in the same language as the translation).
- Observation
1- Corpus-based translation studies […] has strong links with descriptive translation studies.
2- While Toury conceded that isolated attempts had been made to describe and explain actual translations, he called for a whole new methodological apparatus that would make individual studies transparent and repeatable. It was Baker who saw the potential for corpus linguistics to provide such an apparatus, and her early work in the area launched what became known as corpus-based translation studies, or CTS.

مقاربة في الترجمية تستند إلى استخدام مدوّنات النصوص الأصلية و/أو المترجمة من أجل تحليل خصائص الترجمات (الأبحاث الترجمية واستخلاص المبادئ النظرية)، ومساعدة المترجمين في عملهم (من خلال تطوير وسائل مساعِدة على الترجمة)، وتعليم الترجمة، وتدريب المترجمين.

تُعتبر الترجمية المُعتمِدة على المدوّنات صلة وصل بين لسانيات المدوّنات والترجمية الوصفية، وتلجأ عمومًا إلى طريقتَين اثنتَين هما: أولًا، المقارنة بين ترجمتَين أو أكثر لنص مصدر واحد (من أجل دراسة الفوارق الأسلوبية)؛ وثانيًا، المقارنة بين الترجمات والمدوّنات الأحادية اللغة المؤلّفة من نصوص باللغة نفسها (من أجل دراسة الخصائص اللغوية التي تميّز الترجمات عن النصوص غير المترجمة المكتوبة باللغة نفسها).
