Any unmarked current convention that is observed in a linguistic community and that constitutes the most probable formulation in a given communication situation.
- Context
The dimension of usage is divided into a common usage which corresponds to the widespread use in community, and correct usage, which has been legislated by philological knowledge and which is, for this reason, the criteria for linguistic correction on which the ideal of a homogeneous linguistic community is based.
- التعريف
استعمال سائد عند متكلّمين ينتمون إلى جماعة لغوية بحيث تكون طريقة التعبير التي يعتمدونها هي الأكثر رواجًا في حالة تواصل محدّدة.
- الملاحظة
تجدر الإشارة هنا إلى ما درج على تسميته بالأخطاء الشائعة وهي مجموعة من الاستعمالات اللغوية المعاصرة تخالف أصول اللغة نحوًا أو صرفًا أو إملاءً شاعت في الكتب ووسائل الإعلام المكتوبة والمسموعة والمرئية، فقبلها بعضهم بسبب انتشارها الواسع في حين صنّفها بعضهم الآخر في خانة الخطأ الشائع.
ولتلافي الأخطاء الشائعة، يُنصح بالعودة إلى كتاب لغة الجرائد للشيخ إبراهيم اليازجي ومعجم الأخطاء الشائعة لمحمد العدناني .

« Spécification technique ou autre document accessible au public, établi avec la coopération et le consensus ou avec l’approbation générale de toutes les parties intéressées, fondé sur les résultats conjugués de la science, de la technologie et de l’expérience, visant à l’avantage optimal de la communauté dans son ensemble et approuvé par un organisme qualifié sur le plan national, régional ou international » (ISO 5127/21983).
- Exemple
La norme phare qui « fournit les exigences relatives aux processus de base, aux ressources et à d’autres aspects nécessaires à une prestation de traduction de qualité répondant aux spécifications applicables » est la norme ISO 17100:2015 (Services de traduction — Exigences relatives aux services de traduction).
- Definition
A document, established by consensus and approved by a recognized body, that provides for common and repeated use, rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their results, aimed at the achievement of the optimum degree of order in a given context. (ISO/IEC Guide 2:1996).
- Example
The standard that specifies requirements for all aspects of the translation process directly affecting the quality and delivery of translation services is the standard ISO 17100:2015. It includes provisions for translation service providers (TSPs) concerning the management of core processes, minimum qualification requirements, the availability and management of resources, and other actions necessary for the delivery of a quality translation service. »

مجموعة المواصفات التقنية التي توضع في المتناول وقد توافق على تحديدها جميع المعنيين بها، وهي خلاصة ما آلت إليه الأبحاث العلمية والتطبيق التكنولوجي والخبرة. ويهدف تحديد هذه المواصفات إلى بلوغ أفضل النتائج وأكملها لما فيه خير الجماعة.
- الملاحظة
لا تصبح هذه المقاييس موحَّدةً إلا بعد موافقة إحدى المنظمات المؤهّلة لذلك على الصعيد الوطني والإقليمي والدولي. أهم هذه المنظمات المنظمة الدولية لتوحيد المقاييس (ISO) التي وضعت مجموعة من المقاييس الموحّدة الخاصّة بالترجمة التحريرية والشفهية.
