Ce procédé peut aussi bien s’appliquer à l’intérieur d’une langue qu’au cas particulier de la traduction. «Il a annoncé qu’il reviendrait» devient par transposition du verbe subordonné en substantif : «Il a annoncé son retour».

Beside being a special translation procedure, transposition can also be applied within a language. For example: “Il a annoncé qu’il reviendrait”, can be re-expressed by transposing a subordinate verb with a noun, thus: “Il a annoncé son retour”.
